SUMMARY:Beyond CHAKRAS - THE ADHARAS: A WORKSHOP w/ Ram Vakkalanka
DESCRIPTION:No schedule URL defined.\nFriday\, Sep 1 evening: 6-9 pm \nBeyond Chakras – the Sixteen Points of Energy \nThe Sanskrit word ‘Adhara’ means foundation\, base and support. The Siddha Yoga Tradition\, one of the most ancient albeit lesser known\, traditions of Yoga\, teaches about the sixteen (shodasha) vital points of Energy in our body. Each one of these sixteen points of Energy has its location\, focal point\, Chakra (Energy vortex)\, Padma (Purified Chakra)\, Tattva (Energy Principle)\, Mantra (Energy Vibration) and Bindu (Point of Infinitude). Seven of these Adharas are mentioned in other Yogic traditions such as Hatha Yoga\, as Chakras\, which are quite popular among modern Yoga practitioners. However\, mastery over all the sixteen Adharas along with their details is considered as vital in the Siddha Yoga tradition. So much so that\, some ancient yogic texts declare that a Yogi who doesn’t know the sixteen Adharas is a Yogi merely in name. \nIn this workshop\, Ram Vakkalanka is going to share the ancient wisdom about the sixteen Adharas. He will share a little about the ancient Siddha Yoga tradition\, the source of this wisdom. Then\, he will dive into the sixteen Adharas…their location\, focal point and the techniques of meditating on them. The workshop involves simple yoga postures\, Pranayama and guided meditations. Please dress comfortably. \n  \nABOUT RAM VAKKALANKA: \nRam Vakkalanka is an internationally recognized master of Yoga philosophy\, Nada Yoga\, Meditation and Sanskrit. He was born and brought up in India in a Yogic lifestyle. He grew up studying the Sanskrit language\, ancient scriptures such as Upanishads and practicing Mantra-chanting and Meditation since childhood. In his teens\, Ram started studying music through the Sitar\, which eventually blossomed into Nada Yoga. Simultaneous to Yogic education\, Ram also pursued mundane education\, amassed a few qualifications in Finance and worked in the upper echelons of Management in the corporate world in Singapore\, Africa\, USA and Canada. \nIt was in Canada\, Ram met his spiritual Guru and that meeting changed his life completely. In 2010\, Ram quit the corporate world and dedicated his life to spreading the sublime philosophy of Veda and Vedic sciences such as Astrology and Ayurveda. \nRam shares his deep knowledge of the Yoga philosophy\, Sanskrit\, Nada Yoga as well as Vedic sciences such as Ayurveda and Astrology with a global audience through workshops\, Retreats\, Podcasts as well as one-on-one sessions. He is often described as ‘a gift to the global Yoga community’\, given the breadth and depth of his wisdom as well as the authenticity\, humility and passion with which he shares it.  His teaching style is direct and simple but profound\, filled with current examples and humour. \nRam’s creations so far include 22 CDs in three languages\, one DVD and an online course about the origin and evolution of Yoga. \nFor more about Ram\, visit www.ramvakkalanka.com\, listen to his podcasts on Apple Podcasts and Spotify or connect with him on the social media (FB: Ram Vakkalanka\, IG: ram_vakkalanka)

SUMMARY:Connecting with the Inner Goddess - Workshop w/ Ram Vakkalanka
DESCRIPTION:Saturday Sep 2 & Sunday Sep 3: 11-1 pm & 2-4 pm each day \nConnecting with the Inner Goddess – the Tantric way \nIn view of the auspicious Devi Navaratri festival coming up\, Vichara Yoga is offering a series of workshops to honor the Cosmic Feminine according to authentic Tantric tradition. \nTantra is a both a celebratory philosophy as well as a system of practices. It combines the beauty of existence with the sublimity of Divine Essence. Tantra is also a transformational ritualistic science that leads to spontaneous expressions of our inner Divinity. Tantra focuses on connecting the practitioner with the sacred Energies in Nature (the Adhi Bhautika) and eventually transform the individual into the Divinity they seek. In this sense\, Tantra is non-dualistic in its approach. \nThis course taught by Ram Vakkalanka focuses on Durga\, the Goddess of protection and nourishment. Goddess Durga can be fiery as well as compassionate at the same time. Those who seek peace and harmony in relationships\, direction and stability in life and protection from negativity will benefit a lot from invoking the benign energy of Goddess Durga. \nIn this series of workshops\, Ram will share various powerful Kerala tantric practices and rituals that will transform the practitioner so as to embody the energy of Goddess Durga by transcending the limitations of human existence. Please note that the Tantric method of Mantra sadhana is very different from the Vedic/Bhakti Yoga way that many people of familiar with and come with the proverbial empty cup of a mind. Ram will teach various Mudras\, Mantras\, Meditations and Tantra (a ritualistic activity) that elevate the practitioner to be an embodiment of Goddess Durga’s energy. Many ritualistic practices including Anga  Nyasa\, Kara Nyasa\, Ayudha-Bhushana Nyasas will be taught in this workshop. Principles of Sanskrit pronunciation will be offered as necessary. \nThose interested are advised to ideally attend all the four sessions. Only serious seekers\, please. Bring a note book and pen. No other external tools required. Dress comfortably…in yellow clothes\, if possible. \n  \nABOUT RAM VAKKALANKA: \nRam Vakkalanka is an internationally recognized master of Yoga philosophy\, Nada Yoga\, Meditation and Sanskrit. SUMMARY:A Weekend of BHAKTI & PUJA w/ Ram Vakkalanka
DESCRIPTION:Sep 9 Morning: 11 am – 1 pm & 2 – 4 pm \nPuja – Open Your Heart with Bhakti Yoga Rituals \nThe Sanskrit word ‘Puja’ is an acronym for ‘Purna Jagruti’ or complete awakening. Puja is a sacred ritual that combines Meditation\, Mantras\, Mudras and Pranayama into a very powerful\, uplifting experience. Even though the Puja looks like an external ritual\, it is actually an internal meditation. \nThis workshop is for those who would like to learn how do a basic – but powerful – Vedic Puja ceremony for the benefit of themselves as well as others. Ram will teach the different steps involved in performing a ‘Panchopachara Puja’. A Panchopachara Puja is where the Five Elemental Energies are symbolically offered with Mantras and Mudras to the Divine as an act of gratitude as well as surrender. \nIn celebration of Krishna’s birthday on Sep 6\, this Puja is dedicated to Krishna. Please feel free to bring a few flowers and fruits to the Puja as per your convenience and wear loose clothing so you can sit on the floor comfortably. \nSep 9 Afternoon: 2 – 4 pm \nThe Tales of Krishna and Bhakti  \nIn the Yogic tradition\, the sublimest principles of philosophy were often transmitted in the form of stories by the ancient Seers of India. The Upanishads and Puranas are packed with stories that make very deep impressions on our hearts while subtly conveying the noblest of truths to the intellect. Sometimes\, a story can effortlessly convey what a lengthy\, intellectual meandering struggles to communicate. That’s why many ancient texts about Yoga were written in the form of nestled stories – story within a story – in order to carry across wisdom from generation to generation. \nTrue to the tradition\, Ram is going to share some great tales related to Krishna as well as Bhakti Yoga\, honoring the practice of teaching through stories in these sessions. Listening to these stories will allow the seeds of Bhakti to sprout in your heart and enliven the teachings of Krishna. \nIf you like to channel your inner child and listen to a story or two to unplug and unwind\, you will love these sessions with Ram and his masterful way of story-telling. \nDo join us! \nSep 10: 11 am – 1 pm & 2 – 4 pm \nConnecting with the Divine within through Puja Ceremony  \nThe purpose of the Puja is to transcend the sense of individual ego by surrendering it to the Divine and ultimately merge into the Universal Consciousness. In this workshop\, Ram will teach how to offer the sacred ceremony known as ‘Shadasha Upachara Puja to Krishna. Though the ceremony is dedicated to Krishna\, Ram will also teach how to adapt the Puja ceremony to your chosen Deity. After the workshop\, with a little practice\, you would be able to do a puja by yourself\, incorporating a heart-opening practice of Bhakti Yoga into your daily life. \nThe Puja will be followed by a ‘Spiritual Naming’ ceremony (Namakarana)\, for those who are interested. Thereafter\, there will be a Mantra initiation ceremony for those who are interested. \nPlease feel free to bring any flowers and fruits to the Puja as per your convenience and wear loose clothing so you can sit on the floor comfortably. \n  \nABOUT RAM VAKKALANKA: \nRam Vakkalanka is an internationally recognized master of Yoga philosophy\, Nada Yoga\, Meditation and Sanskrit.
